Salford Van Hire was formed in 1965 by Raffaello Bacci who was at that time a manfacturer of lampshades and ornamental statuettes in Salford. He realised that he could earn a few extra pounds for his family by renting his van out when he wasn't using it for deliveries. Such was the demand that he had to quickly buy another van and shortly after that another one. This entrepreneurial spirit has driven the steady growth of the company to make it one of the largest car and commercial vehicle rental organisations in the UK. Now based at two strategically placed depots in Manchester and Leeds, Salford Van Hire has an annual turnover in excess of £45 million and is one of the most respected organisations in the transport sector.
